  1. Carbon in the form of carbon dioxide is removed from the air when plants grow in the sun, taking in the sun's energy. The plant growing process is called photosynthesis and converts carbon dioxide into carbohydrates and releases the oxygen back to the air.
  2. When the fossil fuels, oil, natural gas, and coal are burned, they release the old carbon that was stored deep within the earth and released into the atmosphere. This is considered non-renewable energy with 100% of the carbon added to our air.
  3. Fossil fuel use is now over 8 billion tons per year and is considered the primary cause of the rising concentration of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and is blamed for many environmental problems such as global warming and climate change. What is undisputed is the fact that the burning of non-renewable fossil fuels generates considerable amounts of unwanted pollution.
  4. Burning wood or plant biomass does not contribute to global warming because no more carbon dioxide is released than the plant would release if left to decompose. Using wood for heat or energy results in less fossil fuel burned, less greenhouse gas emissions, and a healthier environment.
  5. When waste biomass such as pruning's, forest debris or sawdust is used for energy use, much cleaner gases are released than if left to decompose such as methane from ants, termites and microbes.
  6. CNFbiofuel burns considerably cleaner than wood derived products because it is processed in a unique way that removes the primary air polluting causes. The process includes removing the water first where the water vapor is released back into the air. Next are all the volatile organic compounds. These are driven out of the wood fibers and are collected. These may be condensed with part used for commercial purposes, or used as a fuel or burned under controlled conditions. Further processing transforms the remaining wood into a high carbon content fuel that no longer has the undesirable properties of wood for burning. The fiber structure and composition changes result in a friable product that is no longer subject to moisture absorption like wood or natural decomposition from insects. The new material is ideally suited to be mixed with coal in co-firing operations to reduce net carbon dioxide release.
  7. Biomass sources: Most trees, grasses, plants of all types can be used as biomass. These include orchard pruning's, agricultural waste, used lumber, chips, sawdust, and other cellulose based materials that end up in landfills or otherwise left to decompose. It is wise to extract the sun's energy from this biomass, as in a practical fuel, that releases the carbon compounds in the primary form of carbon dioxide.
  8. Future energy biomass sources: As the need for biomass fuels such as ethanol, bio-diesel, bio-gas, and solid fuel sources such as BioCoal Fuel increase, new massive biomass sources will be needed. Switch grass may be one of the major energy crops grown and harvested strictly for energy production technologies.
  9. The oceans remain the largest virtually untouched source of algae biomass energy at this time. As demands for biomass fuel sources increase, and extraction technology increases, this source may be called upon to help fuel the world.
  10. We must immediately start to phase out fossil fuel burning, namely oil and coal, in favor of biomass fuels if we ever hope to solve our energy and air pollution problems in the near term. No other energy source or solutions exist on the scale necessary to solve our energy problems in the near term of the next few decades. Solar energy in the form of biomass with billions of tons of stored renewable energy is available now for our use. We just need to process it into a clean burning form.
